Mostra Calvià 2026: Four Weekends of Autumn Menus, Then TaPalma in Palma
The Mostra Calvià returns for its autumn edition from 15 October to 8 November 2026, with around 45 restaurants across the municipality serving special menus priced from €16 to €30 over four consecutive weekends. TaPalma, Palma's tapas contest and route, follows from 2 to 8 November.
For those of us who live in the southwest, this is the best eating month of the year. The beaches are quiet, the terraces are still warm at lunchtime, and the restaurants we walk past all summer put their best cooking on the table at a fixed price. Santa Ponsa's own weekend falls on 22 to 25 October.
What Is the Mostra Calvià?
The Mostra Calvià is the municipality's main food event. It is held twice a year, before and after the summer season, and brings together restaurants from every corner of Calvià. It started life as the Mostra de Cuines de Calvià, and since 2013 it has been held every year in both a spring and an autumn edition.
The format is simple. There is no marquee and no central venue. Each participating restaurant designs its own menu for the Mostra and serves it in its own dining room, so you eat exactly where the chef normally cooks. Some go traditional, with Mallorcan dishes done properly, and others use the Mostra to try something more creative.
Thinking about buying or selling in Mallorca?
The event is organised by the Fundación Calvià 365 together with Calvià Town Hall. The aim is to show how good the cooking in the municipality is and to keep the different neighbourhoods busy at the beginning and end of the tourist season. The spring edition, held from 9 April to 3 May this year, brought together 58 restaurants, 15 of them taking part for the first time.
The Four Weekends, Area by Area
The Mostra Calvià moves around the municipality, with a different group of neighbourhoods taking its turn each weekend. Each weekend runs from Thursday to Sunday.
- 15 to 18 October: Palmanova and Magaluf.
- 22 to 25 October: Santa Ponsa, Costa de la Calma and Son Bugadelles.
- 29 October to 1 November: Cas Català, Bendinat, Illetes, Portals Nous and Son Caliu.
- 5 to 8 November: Peguera, Cala Fornells, El Toro, Calvià village, Es Capdellà and Son Ferrer.
The rotation is the clever part. It gives every area its own moment, and it gives residents a reason to drive ten minutes down the coast and try a restaurant in a neighbourhood they rarely eat in. If you live in Santa Ponsa, the first weekend is a good excuse for lunch on the Palmanova seafront, and the last one is the time to head inland to Calvià village or Es Capdellà, where the cooking leans towards the hills rather than the sea.
The second weekend is ours. Santa Ponsa, Costa de la Calma and Son Bugadelles share the dates of 22 to 25 October, and from our office we can walk to several of the restaurants that usually take part.
Prices and How It Works
- Dates: four consecutive weekends from 15 October to 8 November 2026.
- Price: menus from €16, with a ceiling of €30.
- Restaurants: around 45 in this autumn edition, according to the announcement of the event.
- Where: in each participating restaurant, during its own opening hours.
- Options: the official website marks menus that are vegetarian, gluten-free, for children or available as take-away.
The full list of restaurants and menus is published on the official Mostra Calvià website, which is available in English, Spanish and Catalan. You can filter by area and by price, and there is an interactive map that shows where every participating restaurant is.
Our advice: book. The most popular tables fill quickly, particularly for Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch, and a short phone call saves a wasted trip. It is also worth checking whether the restaurant serves its Mostra menu at lunch, at dinner or both.
TaPalma 2026: Palma's Tapas Week
As the Mostra Calvià reaches its final weekend, Palma takes over. TaPalma Mallorca 2026 has two parts. The contest takes place on Monday 2 November at the Palau de Congressos de Palma, where chefs compete in front of a jury. The tapas route then runs from Wednesday 4 to Sunday 8 November through different areas of the city.
Every bar and restaurant taking part prepares two tapas. The first is a free creation, called the Tapa TaPalma 2026. The second has to be made with Sobrassada de Mallorca IGP, the island's protected cured sausage, which makes the route a good way to see how many different things a cook can do with one very Mallorcan ingredient.
TaPalma is organised by AgenciaCom and Restauración Mallorca CAEB, with Trasmed as official sponsor and the support of Palma City Council, PalmaActiva and the Fundació Turisme Responsable de Mallorca. This year registration was free for establishments, and the organisers assess every proposal for quality and originality before admitting it.
Last year's route, held from 5 to 9 November 2025, brought together more than 50 bars and restaurants and followed themed routes through Santa Catalina, the Paseo Marítimo and Portixol. Palma's tourism board publishes the city's events on Visit Palma.
How to Combine the Two
The calendar works in your favour. The final weekend of the Mostra Calvià, from 5 to 8 November, overlaps with the TaPalma route, from 4 to 8 November. That gives you a full menu in Peguera or El Toro on one day and an evening of tapas in Palma on another, all within a twenty-minute drive of Santa Ponsa.
A plan that works well for us:
- Weekend one (15 to 18 October): lunch by the sea in Palmanova.
- Weekend two (22 to 25 October): stay local in Santa Ponsa or Costa de la Calma and walk home.
- Weekend three (29 October to 1 November): Portals Nous or Illetes, with a stroll around the marina afterwards.
- Weekend four (5 to 8 November): a menu in Es Capdellà or Calvià village, then TaPalma in the city.
If you plan to enjoy the wine as well, leave the car at home. Taxis are easy to find in the southwest at this time of year, and the bus network connects the main resorts of Calvià with Palma.
Why Autumn Food Routes Matter in the Southwest
One of the first questions buyers ask us is what the southwest is like once the summer ends. The honest answer is that it is one of the best times to be here, and events like the Mostra Calvià are part of the reason. They keep kitchens open, give local residents something to look forward to and show that the municipality has a life beyond July and August.
Calvià has worked for years to lengthen its season, and food is central to that. A restaurant that fills its tables on an October Thursday is a restaurant that stays open through the winter, and a neighbourhood with open restaurants is a neighbourhood people want to live in all year round. That is good news for anyone who owns a home here, whether they use it for weekends or have made it their permanent address.
It is also simply a pleasure. Sitting on a terrace in Santa Ponsa in late October, with the bay almost to yourself and three courses for under €30, is the kind of afternoon that persuades many visitors to start looking at property windows on the walk back.
